Solved Reason to go more expensive on mobo ? Tags: Motherboards Product Last response: August 13, 2012 10:24 AM in Motherboards Share bigAL23 August 12, 2012 12:58:47 PM I've decided on an i5 3570k. Have a GeForce 9600 GSO and a tower. Need : MB (I assume I need a z75/z77), ram, power supply (what's adequate ?), monitor (26" minimum), HDD (value pick here) Use: lots of HD video streaming (watching), some dvds, might get into some gaming down the road (I don't think it would ever be an all consuming hobby for me) Question: Is there something in some of the more expensive boards that would be worth having. Newegg has an ASRock Z75 Pro3 for $85 (5 star rating). Should I go higher ? More about : reason expensive mobo Best solution nafoni August 12, 2012 3:08:59 PM Share If you plan on overclocking, I'd go 10$ higher and get a Z77 version of the same board. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... I see no reason for you to go higher than this. bigAL23 August 13, 2012 1:10:57 AM nafoni said:If you plan on overclocking, I'd go 10$ higher and get a Z77 version of the same board. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... I see no reason for you to go higher than this. I just checked newegg for a cpu/mobo combo deal. They had a different MB paired with the 3570k. Personally I'd stick with the ASrock Pro3. bigAL23 August 13, 2012 10:19:17 AM Best answer selected by bigAL23. nikorr a c 328 V Motherboard August 13, 2012 10:24:02 AM For better OC, I would go with this one, it has more phases 8+4 vs 4+2 listed above.
