Hello,
Just Purchased above m/b and intel i3-2120 3.30 Ghz. Thermaltake level 10 gt case. 850 watt thermaltake psu. memory says samsung pc3 8500u, 3 1 gb sticks. System will not boot, red cpu led stays on, no beep from speaker. How can I determine whether it's the cpu or motherboard?

That's really difficult to do. I would pull out the processor, clean off the thermal paste, reseat and reapply the thermal paste. Also ensure that your 12V line 4/8 pin is properly connected. If it's still throwing an error I would bet the motherboard is defective, because the QA process for CPUs is quite rigorous and its less likely that you would get a bad CPU.

On my mobo I blew a capacitor during overclocking and got the red CPU led. RMA'd the board and it works good as new.
