Solution

The differences between the GeForce GT 530 (OEM) and the GeForce GTX 460 are massive in terms of performance capability.

The GT 530 is an entry level OEM card with :
CUDA Cores : 96
Graphics Clock (MHz) : 700
Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) : 11.2
Memory Clock : 898 MHz
Standard Memory Config : 1 GB or 2 GB DDR3
Memory Interface Width : 128-bit
Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) : 28.8
NVIDIA SLI-ready : Not supported
Maximum Graphics Card Power (W) : 50 W
Minimum Recommended System Power (W) : 350 W

The GeForce GTX 460 is more upper mid-range ...

If your talking about the integrated GT530 or if it was a typo of the GT430 there is going to be a massive boost in performance. It will be like trading in a tricycle for an SUV.

The GeForce GTX 460 is more upper mid-range :
CUDA Cores : 336
Graphics Clock (MHz) : 675 MHz
Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) : 37.8
Memory Clock : 1800
Standard Memory Config : 1 GB GDDR5
Memory Interface Width : 256-bit
Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) : 115.2
NVIDIA SLI-ready : 2-Way
Maximum Graphics Card Power (W) : 160 W
Minimum Recommended System Power (W) : 450 W
Supplementary Power Connectors : Two 6-pin

Solution

The GDDR5 on the graphics card is only accessible by the GPU on the graphics card and is completely independent of the DDR3 RAM on your motherboard.

The motherboard's memory bus, that the DDR3 memory modules are installed on, is independent of the PCI Express bus that the graphics card is on.

It depends more on the size of the chassis/case and the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of the power supply unit.
