I had a 6850 and just upgraded to a 6970. Personally I am someone who strives to play my games at maxed out settings. However, that being the case, my 6850 handled Crysis 2 just fine. A 6950 would handle it great, as my 6970 feels even better than my 6850, but just saying, depending on what you are striving for you could go for a 6850 or 6870 which are much cheaper and still be able to play it on extreme setting.
