Might be SLIing 580's in the future. So what do you guys think? Would it be worth it to get a nonreference 570 with good cooling and overclock it so I can save ~$120 to upgrade the rest of my components? Any and all comments welcome.

  1. GTX570 would be plenty at 1080P resolution. A cheaper air cooler like the CM hyper 212+ would be enough for your CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065

Thanks. Looking for this build to last 2-3 years. Think the 570 would be maxing/close to maxing games(at least med settings) at 1080p for that long?
  3. Certainly if you SLI in the future. If we look at the great cards of the past GTX260 and HD4870 they are equal in performance to the lower midrange HD5770 and still hold their own today.

So would you recommend a 580 since I plan to keep it so long or it won't make much of a difference?
  5. I do not think it makes much of a difference.
