Wireless faster than wired

So over the weekend I noticed my internet speed was struggling to reach 1Mbps on both my wired and wireless pcs - normally it hovers around 16Mbps+. I contacted my cable provider and we went through the expected tests (reset modem, reset router, bypass router, etc.) to no avail. The next day when I tested the wired connection I was back up to anywhere from 7-10Mbps BUT both wireless pcs tested at around 18Mbps. I tried various ports and configurations thinking a port or cable was bad but nothing improved my wired connection. I replaced the ethernet cables, no luck. Tonight I swapped out the network adapter, again no luck.

Both wireless connections are still twice what my wired connection is getting. I haven't messed with the MTU or related settings for a LONG time so I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

Would you mind swapping the wired connection into another PC to eliminate the possibility of the existing wired PC being the cause of throttling its own connection?[/#000ff]
