I got pretty much my whole computer picked out, now I just need to decide on a monitor. What 19" monitor would you buy right now at a reasonable price ($600 and below)?

I'd look at NEC, KDS and Viewsonic.

Avoid Diamondtron and Trinitron picture tubes.

Go to the store and look at the actual monitor you want to take home. There are adjustmental variations in CRT monitors that can crank out a crap monitor even from the best designs. If you fire up half a dozen identical monitors side by side you will likely see at least 3 variations in display quality.

With a little time and patience you can pick a really good one out of a bargain lineup.

Just bought a P95F+ for my friend (ain't I generous? hehe) and it's real nice. Me like, and it can support ridiculously high resolutions.....too bad they wanna run it at 800x600 cause of poor vision (imo, 1600x1200 is fine on that monitor).

Hilbert space is a big place.
