Hello, my brother wants a minecraft server. He wants to be able to hole 3-6 players without any problems. The total price of it being about $400 thatS including the OS but nothing else. I dont know much about making small servers let alone one to host a game. I would like to parts to preferably come from newegg but it doesnt matter a whole lot. Along with what brand of parts. I do know that the server should have a high amount of memory. Im not even sure a build like this is possible. Thanks

not really a minecraft server doesnt require much at all, i host my own with about 25-35 people on it on my 2500K.

this is what i would reccommend:

GIGABYTE gz-ph1a3 case:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

a phenom II 925:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

a corsair CX430 V2 PSU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

4gb ddr3 1333Mhz ram:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

a 500GB 7200RPM HDD:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

a scythe shuriken CPU cooler:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

a DVD-RW drive:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

a ASRock N68-S UCC mobo:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

and windows 7 home premium 64bit:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

all adds up to $413.91 for a great system that will be about to handle a minecraft server but im not sure if it can handle minecraft itself for that you'll need (atleast) this:

what is the point of minecraft severs anyway? Sorry for going off topic..
And I think a 300 dollar build would be reasonable, but for that price, it might be better just buying a already built computer. I may be wrong though.
