Phenom 2 x4 Bottleneck? gtx580?

so someone told me that my phenom 2 x4 970 overclocked to 3.8 is bottle necking my new gtx580.
what do you guys think?
in resource monitor my cpu is never really maxed out (75-90) on all 4 cores while my gpu is at 100%
65 fps battlefield 3 maxed out but weird performance in starcraft 2 14-45 fps maxed out and cpu load is only 50% and gpu load is at 55%. that looks weird to me.

Thats a definite no, Your 970 @ 3.8ghz would quite happily feed a GTX590 or even SLI GTX580s. Even at 2560 x 1600 resolutions.

You only get a CPU bottleneck when the CPU is not able to handle the game or when you have excess power of GPU.

And AMD 970/975/980 BE particularly performs as great as a Core i5 2500K specially in gaming.

So why do you think I'm only getting 14 fps sometimes? Any suggestions on how to improve that and is it normal to only see a 50% load on gpu in msi afterburner during gameing all other games and benchmarks seem to be useing 100% gpu load, that's what leads me to think that my CPU is bottlenecking my system during Starcraft but when I look at CPU load it's pretty low what performance should I be seeing instatcraft 2 with a x4 970 and a gtx580

Some games are GPU intensive, and some games are CPU intensive like Skyrim, for the low FPS i would start digging by checking drivers, nVidia releases beta drivers for new games to improve the performance and scaling issues, so make sure you're up to date with the latest drivers.

With GTX 480 (which is near to GTX 580) you should avg FPS at 62 FPS, so if the game a CPU whore try overclocking your CPU a little bit high and see how it goes, you can hit 4.0 or 4.2 GHz with your CPU easily.
