I would say the 6850 or the 6870 are the best budget GPU's...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... would go with the 6870..it's only about $20 more..and you get great performance for the money...I did see a 6850 for $149.99 somewhere..probably just a 1 or 2 day sale...If I find I'll post..

I agree with that, whats Budget to you it means different things to different people, Also where you are in the world matters. Most recent example of this was the 5770 decent enough value in the US but comparatively overpriced in the UK.

Well,
I was generally going for a budget crossfire setup.
I was just thinking of doing either a 6790cf or a 6870cf.
But just wondering does eyefinity still have issues with crossfire?

I dont have a budget but still wanting to save money rather than waste it.Budget to me is the best bang of the buck performance.

6850 is a little faster than 6790......; given equal pricing, I'd choose the 6850

Hang on a minute and rewind a bit. So basically your looking for the most cost effective way of running an Eyefinity set up ?
Because " I was just thinking of doing either a 6790cf or a 6870cf." dosent make sense.
The 6870 is way above a 6970 in every way.

Oh and "Hello" is considered bumping a thread to the top of the list and is a NO NO ;)

Budget GPU's would depend on your budget and your current config!

Best budget card would have to be the 5850 Extreme from Sapphire.
Yes you can use crossfire with Eyefinity but all displays would need to be connected to a single card as far as i know. I don't run Eyefinity personally.
We are trying to help but just don't want to see you spend out on 2 x 6970 cards when a single option would possibly give the same results and not involve the issues sometimes inured with Crossfire.
thats why all teh questions about what it is you are exactly trying to do.
If you just fancy trying a CF set up with Eyefinity thats your call, no need to get all shirty with people trying to help as all.

I do think sticking to the 2nd gen of DX11 cards is a better option. And for that the HD6850 is the best option for me!

HD5xxx cards did have some scaling issues. But the 6xxx cards were improved. Also the HD5xxx cards are dying out and they are expensive.

One card can work out to be less troublesome and more cost effective depending on what it is you actually want from the set up.
