Hey, it's time for me to buy a new PC, I'm planning on buying it before BF3 comes out, here's my build so far:

4e4923e98ceb3_New%20Build.bmp
1861$

I've got a 650 PSU from Corsair and two HDD's.

I know that the Ivy Bridge will be out shortly, but I think I'll miss my queue by then.

Anyone have suggestions or tips to enhance this build? Thanks.

That RAM looks expensive and i think it would run at 1333Mhz with that CPU anyway. I would just get 1600Mhz RAM to be honest. Other than that it looks great, with overclocking and SLI that PSU might be cutting it a little bit fine though.

Hey, thanks for the reply, I would like to know how you determine that the RAM would run at 1333 with i5-2500K CPU, I just don't know where to look or calculate, thanks!

Ok, been lurking around now, reading some sites and reviews etc. This is what I've come up with now:

4e4a6e95db186_New%20Build.bmp

The only thing I've not added is a new fan for the CPU, dont know which one to get yet. I will be using the
OC function, so a new fan is probably needed.

I've never used a liquid cooler before, looks like its hard to deal with, if not, ill go with it, but the Noctua NH-D14 looks pretty solid, does these even fit for my case? thanks.

Which case are you using? I can't seem to get to that link. Also, that H100 is a 'ready made' water cooling kit. All prefilled and stuff, just connect it like you would an air cooler and make sure you have space for the radiator.

If you haven't decided on a case yet you should definitely look at the Fractal Design Define R3. That is quiet and will fit that Noctua without a problem.

I had Silverstone Raven RV03B-W in my list, but after looking closely on that R3, looks pretty solid & if you can vouch that everything will fit in there, thats a go for me ;).

go with the hx 750. in some cases i think the hx outperforms the ax so it really isnt worth it. the rv03 is a great case with great cable management so you really dont need a modular psu. get it at amazon it is much cheaper there (the RV03).

im not a fan of the deluxe. i think the evo is a way better deal. but i would go with a z68- http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004ZQ6F7C/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1313518256&sr=8-1&condition=new 160$

get this ram since 1155 boards cant tri channel- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231441

I read this: http://www.pugetsystems.com/blog/2011/06/09/h67-p67-and-z68-which-one-is-right-for-you/

And that's why I went with the P67, and the Deluxe because of Toms reviews.

I can't buy from Newegg since I live in Europe

Ok, I changed my RAM to:

Corsair Vengeance™ DDR3 1600MHz 16GB CL9 Kit w/4x 4GB XMS3 modules, CL9-9-9-24, 1.5V, Vengeance Heatspreader, 240 pin
For the same price as the other.

This looks finished to me now,

the only thoughts I have left is if I am going to wait for the Ivy Bridge to come out, BF3 releases 10.25.2011 & the IB is supposedly to come out late september, that looks like a working time frame there, IF they release it in time, thoughts?

TOTAL COST: 2160$ (14526 SEK) @ Komplett.se

I want to thank you all for your support, special thanks to jmsellars1 and toms.

Firstly, are you sure you want 16GB of RAM? 8GB is more than enough for gaming.

Secondly sorry to leave this one so late but any reason you went for the i7-2600k over the i5? In games there isn't much of a performance boost and the i5 is $100 cheaper.

Also, that RAM won't fit under that heatsink, if you want Corsair Vengeance then make sure to get the LP (Low Profile) version.

Lastly, those are all some very quiet looking parts. Your GPU's are going to be by far the loudest part so i would definitely spend some time looking at the reviews of the different brands of GTX 560Ti to make sure you have the quietest one. It would be a shame to have a quiet PC ruined by one part. The Gainward GTX 560Ti Phantom looks pretty good.

EDIT: Just remembered about the editing/production, i7/16GB will be nice.

Ye I just cancelled the order, going to switch GFX as you said and switch to low profile, tho I don't think they have that many LP RAM's available at komplett.se

Ok, I switched to X2 Gainward GTX 560 Ti Phantoms.

I found these RAM's: http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=641128

Not a LP RAM but it says its still Low, 26.25mm, what do you think?

! I also swapped for the Corsair H100 now, might just aswell.

Also as I noticed not too long ago, think I'll need to buy some extra fans for my case since you only get 2 out of 5 availabe slots with it.

I just want to get this ordered today so I can chill :p.

That RAM is Vengeance Black LP. You don't need LP RAM with the H100 though :). I'm sorry to drop this one on you now too but i don't think that H100 is going to fit in the case without modding it. Sorry to reccommend it and now say it wont work >.<. I'd keep that LP RAM and the Noctua, the Noctua is quiet (maybe quieter) with equally good cooling so don't worry. With the fans i would make sure you get quiet ones too, i think the Fractal Design silent series are pretty quiet.

EDIT: I don't have any personal experience with that case though, i'm going off reviews and what people say online. You might be best asking at a shop or something. In fact, i will ask at my local shop for you, theyre usually really helpful.

I should say too that if you put that Noctua in there, theres no guarantee that all the fans on the cooler and the case will still fit. That's the case with most mid towers though, including mine.

EDIT: Most likely you will just have to move one of the fans on the cooler to the other side of it and maybe the top fans on the case won't fit. If youre worried about this maybe look at the Fractal XL

Ok, I like where this is going :), this COULD be the final change!

If everything is alright, there's is 1 more question, will the PSU be able to handle this? how can you tell?
