Hello,

I would like to know if " G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR " would work on my PC.

My Mortherboard is a Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4, and the ram I have now is a " ADATA XPG Gaming Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model AX3U1600GB2G9-2G ".

Any help would be great. I wouldn't mind also if anyone could tell me how I can learn something like this on my own.

Sorry I had no idea on what to put in as the sub-category, the "ask the community now" wouldn't let me publish this without adding a sub. So Chipsets came to mind when I was thinking about mortherboards.

Are you looking to replace the RAM that you have in there now? if so that memory would work perfectly fine in your system you would just have to overclock to be able to achieve the 1866 speeds....that speed is not supported by your motherboard without overclocking....if you are trying to add this RAM on top of the RAM you have now that would not work...different speed ram...you would either have to underclock this ram or overclock the old ram which would not work
