I looked at the "compatible RAM list" on the Gigabyte website, but it doesn't seem to include some of the newer RAM out there. Will this RAM work in my motherboard?:

The one that is on the compatibility list is:

but it seems the only differences are the speed and voltage improvements in the newer models, which I'd prefer. In particular, with the rebate, the sniper series has a higher speed for the same price. Opinion please and thank you.

Overall, you'd be best off with the G.SKILL Ripjaws X ram because of lower latency.

What is the model # of your motherboard? G-Skill and Corsair both have their own memory configurators for most motherboards. As far a "up to date" goes. you're right on that. Once the motherboard is put out everybody scrambles to see what they have that's compatible, they advertise and move on. Once that's done they're looking forward towards the next board and usually don't update any lists. So go to the configurators and see what they say. I would do it but I don't know the model to insert. Here's the links below:

I found a good price on an MSI z77 board that meets what I need and is more "future-proof" than the gigabyte I had ordered. Thank you for your suggestions though.
