Shishir18, iwas in exactly the same situation like you 6 months ago. You are from India? Right? See, the 5770 is much much better than 5670. It is easily worth 2500rupees more than 5670. Problem is, for a 5770, you need a good power supply(not just in watts but a good brand also). I went for the 5770 and a new power supply which cost me 8000+3000 Rs. So, you do the math. A 5670 for 4500Rs or a 5770 for 10000Rs. Although I must say, at the resolution of your monitor, a 5670 will be good enough. GL.

ok.you are running at a low resolution.the 5770 will easily max out all games at that resolution with 40+ fps seeing as my gtx 275 which is faster than a 5770 can push out max settings in most games at 1680X1050.now gta 4 is a very unoptimised game and is highly cpu dependant.you currently own a dual core which will bottleneck your 5770 in cpu dependant games like gta 4 because your 5770 is a lot faster than your cpu and your cpu will have difficulty keeping up to it.As far as crysis 2 is concerned you will be able to max out the game easily.you can also max out crysis 1 at that resolution.I recommend that you buy a gts 450 because it costs less than a 5770 and although its weaker than the 5770 its enough at your resolution.

And as I said between the 5670 and 5770 don't even look at the 5670 as its MUCH weaker than the 5770 and will have trouble at your resolution.

5670 is excellent at your resolution, even according to the best graphics card for the money article, it has ``exceptional`` perfromance at 1680x1050, let alone resolutions much lower than that. Still a 5770 is better if you are willing to spend more.

HD 5750 gets my vote too, the card runs at such low wattage that it is in theory capable of running without auxiliary power from the 6 pin, though u still have to plug it in to complete the circuit.
Performance is also only slightly worse than the 5770

5750 is no more available in my city...!! and 5770 is going out of my budget..!! my budget is just 5'500 Rs. shuld i go wid 5670 or any other??? if 5670 then will i be able to play latest games on max setting??

try and find out costs of the gts 250 if its available in your area.If you are on a low budget try and get a nvidia geforce 9800 gt.It is much more powerful than the 5670 and will max out some games at your resolution. The 5670 will be able to play games at your resolution but not at max settings. You will have to turn down settings to low in crysis 2 and you can just forget about running gta 4 as its only optimised to run on high end rigs.
If you can stretch you budget a little this 9800 gt will be perfect for you and your resolution

on an average the 9800 gt is more powerful than the ati 5670

BTW thos benchmark results of gta 4 which you posted have been done using the ingame benchmark tool which is completely useless as it does not take into account gameplay and is not demanding at all.I played gta 4 with an i7 870 oced to 4ghz and a gtx 275 highly overclocked and even then I could only get an average of 30-40 fps on max settings at 1680X1050.Turning settings down to medium only nets me 6 fps more.So if my high overclocked cpu and gpu can only run gta 4 at 30-50 fps what chance does a 5670 with a dual core have?
And as far as crysis 2 is concerned the game feels laggy at 30 fps to me.You need at least 40+ fps to enjoy the game

don't judge a card on the amount of its vram.I know that in India the salesman tries to make you buy cards by saying look it has 1gb vram. The 5670 is not strong enough to use the 1gb vram which it has been given. The 9800 gt 512 mb is more powerful than the 5670 1gb version. On a sidenote the video ram only comes into play at higher esolutions.Till 1920X1080 1gb of vram is generally enough though there are games like gta 4 and witcher 2 which require more than 1 gb.
As far as the 5770 is concerned it is defienetly MUCH MUCH more powerful than the 9800gt and 5670 but your cpu will bottleneck it since you are playing at a low resolution. If you want to buy a 5770 buy a new monitor which has a resolution of 1680X1050 or higher.
Ultimately my advice to you is to buy a 9800 gt since it will play crysis at high and gta 4 (maybe) at medium settings at 1280X1024.

Here is a good site which shows you how the 9800 gt performs in crysis 2
http://uk.geforce.com/optimise/guides/crysis-2-benchmarks

If you want to see how it performs in other games use this
http://uk.geforce.com/optimise

Just select your gpu.click on find settings and see how the 9800 gt performs at your resolution in the latest games
