Sappire hd4890 high processor fan

All of a sudden the fans inside the computer case went full rpm. The hd4890 stopped working. Unplugged and reseated-same problem. Replaced video card-new card works fine. To me seems to be a shorted component on the sappire hd4890. Never overclocked. Any ideas. Can I get a schematic? My power supply is 500 watts. Nothing in unit but hard drive x2, video card,couple usb items.

Is your computer working fine with the new graphics card?

If so, it's your old graphics card dying. Probably a broken connection.
