Hi, I am going to university in September and rather than upgrade my
antiquated pc which I was going to do, my parents have offered to put £750
toward a laptop and I already had £700 stashed for my pc upgrade so now I
have £1450 to spend on a laptop. Possibly a more if it is worth the stretch
(Maybe £1800-1900 tops)?

Could anyone give me some recommendations since I know next to nothing about
laptops! I want to be able to play games like half life 2...etc comfortably
and Microsoft office wouldn't hurt but I could just transfer the office 2000
license from my old pc.

I'm doing an English Literature and Film degree so video editing might be a
factor.

Dell 9300 series
