Confirm shutdown

I hate when someone presses the shutdown button on my chassis and the whole computer shuts down without asking. On OEM computers they usually have a confirmation message, is there a way to get my computer to confirm a shut down too?

I don't want to completely disable the computer's power button from shutting it down because if the computer freezes up (highly unlikely for a $1100 computer built in 2011) or something I would still have the good old holding power button down until it shuts computer down. So I just want a confirmation message when the button is pressed.

You can go into the power management settings advanced tab and make changes there. Why would someone be pushing the power button on your computer.

Start -> run -> shutdown -a

or hold windows key and press r then type shutdown -a and press enter

where is this power management settings?

And that someone is my younger brother who doesn't understand the implications of turning the computer on and off to see the blue lighted fan spin
