How long will this last?

My system has:

single Gefore GTX 260
Intel quad core 2.67ghz
4gb ram

How long do you think this will last before I will start to lag on medium-ish settings on standard games? 2yrs? 4yrs? 6yrs?

Depends what game, and depends which Intel quad core that is.

A GTX 260 isnt strong compared to todays cards but its still a good performer; however, if you throw something like Metro 2033 at it, its not going to do great so how long it lasts really depends on what games you want to play. If you stick with games from 2010 it will last until it dies, but if you want to keep up with the latest and greatest games i would say somewhere between 2 months to 2 years depending on what you want to play.

hmph... I had had a little more faith in my 260 than that, but that's technology for you. Buy the latest and greatest and before you know it it's junk. Thanks for the answer.
