Just upgraded my DSL line to 20 mbps. WhenI do a speed test on my computer connected to my router I only get 8.5 mbps. When I do a speed test bypassing the router and connected to the modem is more like 16mbps. I realize having the router will increase latency but by that much??

You are connecting by wire? Set your wired NIC to 100/Full Duplex and try it again.

Ok, I figured out the problem. I needed to change the setting under Qos which was set to the limit of my old speed. The setting was changes and the router no longer is throttling the speed.
