Hi:
I am planning to buy a LCD, and want to hear your opinions about what the best LCD out on the market at moment in terms of response time, color, brightness and contrast ratio.

or do you know if any good screen is coming out in the near future?

some people say 172T from samsung is good, but my question is that there is several version of the 172 series, 172T, 172B, 172W. Are they using the same panel? there is quite some price difference among these models, anybody knows why?

bro, do a little research yourself, dont be lazy, and search thru some of the older threads. actually not even that old, look back like 2-3 sites and ull find a lot of info.
anyway, i say the planar px171m rocks. #1 17in as far as im concerned. look around and ull find a lot of info on it.
when ur ready to buy, look no where else but monitorsdirect.com
u wont regret it.

Ive just ordered a hitachi 174..ill let u know what its like...supposed to be very good and uses same panel as the planar i belive.

N e way i should get it next week so ill let u know.

I've used CML174B for 3 month and I can say that it's the last monitor you will want until, of course, you will want something bigger, I am also waiting for 19 inch panels, until then CML174 is among the best monitors with 16ms RT.

Thanks guys. and it seems this Hitachi new baby is the hottest now, but I have decided not to have it for some personal reasons:) I'd like to know if some new panels are coming out soon, since 172T is still too expensive and not fast enough for games. Anybody has any inside news about the upcoming goodies?
