Well for an SB or IB (K) unlocked processor you cannot OC on the H61, and you'd need a P67, Z68, Z75 or Z77 Chipset. Further, since pre-IB MOBO's often can lack supporting BIOS (CPUID) to post I'd stick to the Z75 or preferably the Z77 Chipset MOBO's.

edit/ 3500 Indian rupees = 62.93 US dollars that's a tough budget.

Typically (now) the cheapest Z77 for OC I recommend is the ($135USD) ASRock Z77 Extreme4 - http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Extreme4/

I've seen the ASRock Z75 Pro3 OC but often with some troubles (higher vCore/throttling), but it can also OC; ($85 USD) ASRock Z75 Pro3 - http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z75%20Pro3/

Ok one of the features of the Intel® Core™ i5-3570K is the ability to overclock it by changing the multiplier in the Bios of the board. The only chipsets that will allow you to do this is the P67, Z68 (with Bios updates to support 3rd generation Intel Core processors) and the Z77 chipset.

So while you can pick up a H61 chipset based board and updated the Bios and put this processor on it you would not be able to overclock it with that chipset.

I would advise that you look at a board like the ASRock Z77 Extreme4 or the Intel DZ77SL-50K (which you may have more luck finding in India.

thnx for the reply , but i want to know that is it possible to use ASRock H61M with 3570k without a bios update ?????

IF the BIOS is pre version P1.70 then it will NOT post; assuming the ASRock H61M/U3S3 see - http://www.asrock.com/mb/cpu.asp?Model=H61M/U3S3 the solutions are:
1. IF the Retailer has 'newer' inventory with BIOS version P1.70 or later ; Free contact Retailer to verify prior to purchase
2. Donor SB CPU (buy or borrow) ; Free or Cost of a supported CPU
3. RMA to ASRock ; Cost of shipping and time
4. Repair Shop ; Cost of repair

The board would have to have Bios P1.70 (which is most likely marked on the box) but if it doesnt have this Bios you wouldnt be able to use the board with the Intel® Core™ i5-3570K until it had the updated Bios.

The "Q" boards actually CAN be OC'd, according to Intel: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/chipsets/busines...

Intel Q77 & Q75 Express Chipset also enables overclocking features of unlocked 3rd generation Intel® Core™ processors.

You cannot OC using the CPU Multiplier and modifying the BCLK >100MHz is ill advised. So no, of those listed only the Z75 & Z77 allow CPU Multiplier overclocking. /Edit - What the Intel link 'might' be referring to is the Turbo and or iGPU and or RAM OC'ing.

Now when it comes to RAM and the iGPU then even I need to look at a grid. I've seen many that have errors and this is probably the most accurate - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_1155#Ivy_Bridge_chipse...

I'll take your word for it. I honestly have NO idea, just going by what Intel themselves said there.

Although, I would like to know WHY they said a Q board will, when it can't. Seems like false advertising and doesn't make ANY sense...

I guess it's what Intel defines as 'features' which is kind of vague at the very least. All I know is that one of the 'features' isn't the CPU Multiplier.
