Dimm help

Hello

I have a system using an Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen motherboard with crucial 8gb 2X4 1600 DDR3 memory. These have been installed in dimm slots A2 and B2. Today B2 went bad so I switched over to dimm slot A1 and B1. The computer works now finally.

My question is will I see any performance decrease in slot 1 and 3 vs slot 2 and 4? This computer is for gaming.

I called Asus Tech, but that is a waste of time, and I dont have an answer.

Should be the same, I would think. I never have figured out exactly WHY Asus recommends to use A2 and B2 first.
