Memory for old computer

hi i have recently changed my old computers mother board to a biostar t41 hd and i only installed 1 2 gig memory chip i was wondering if i can add another one even if it is a different kind of chip. the motherboard says it supports dual channel but does that work for 2 different memory modules please reply.

crucial memory has a online memory scanner. it a small java ap that scan your mb and then it show you the ram that will wrk in your pc and the amount of ram the mb can use. min and max.
with ram you want to have all the ram the same speed. mixing ram speeds can cause memory errors.

you may find another stick that is compatible with what you have, yes. but it is best to buy a matching pair to avoid any issues.
