Need advice on hooking up my gfx card

Hey everybody,

I just recieved my new EVGA GTX 580 3GB today and am just about ready to hook it up so I can try it out on Skyrim.

I just have one concern regarding the PSU. Reading the installation instructions that came with the card, I have noticed that it requires both an 8-pin AND 6-pin PCI-E power connector on my PSU. Looking at the specs of my current PSU online I discover that it has a 6-pin and a 6+2-pin but no 8-pin.

Will the 6+2-pin connector do the same job as an 8-pin?

It's the same way on most PSU's, there are rarely if any straight 8 pin PCIe connectors.
