It has a P4 3.0 ghz in it (I believe)... All they ever do is surf the internet, and load some pics from their digital cameras on there... Is this a situation where I could rejuvenate the machine by simply reinstalling windows, and adding some ram..? Or, has this dinosaur seen its time come and go..? There's some stuff on Dell for $500, I doubt I can build one for that price...

Here are the build specs, most of it is superfluous, but I think it shows 1 gig of ram? (2) 512 chips? So there's room for up to 4 gigs, which I understand only 3 gigs would be used of on a 32 bit machine... :

If the only thing you do is browse the web (no gaming and no HD videos), then upgrading is not necessary. If storage is running short, you might be able to add a second hard drive. Whether you're using EIDE or SATA, that I don't know. Given that photos take up so little disk space, even a mere 100 GB hard drive will last for years if you only intend on storing photos on it. If you don't know how to work on the inside of a computer safely, consider an external hard drive.

Ulillillia - Yeah, that's what I figured.. I'm very experienced with computers, just have been out of the building scene awhile.. I'll pick up some ram, and I might even have a couple 120 gigs around to throw in there...
Thanks a lot for the help!
