Hello guys and thank you in advance for taking your time to read my post.
Oke ive got some doubts...i have this PSU http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=MTIyMg== and its been used less than 5 months, now the thing is i want to upgrade my grafic card latley and ive found a super cheap GTX 480 ...i know its hot i know it eats lots of watts :p  buuut my question is would it work on my PSU considering it requiers a 600 WATTS psu at minimum..
here are my specs:
I5 2500k -stock
4 GB ddr3 1333
ASRock P67 Pro B3
Antec BP550 Plus - 550 W
I play at a 1600x900 resolution but i plan to upgrade to 1080p next month or so .
At the moment im using a GTS 250 video card wich is kinda getting old (used this from my old computer till ive had some cash to upgrade wich is now)
Now should i take the risk of buying the card without upgrading the psu ? or should i wait till 6950's get in stock :(  wich may take weeks.

If 600 watts is the recommended PSU, I'd not try to skirt that issue....

How cheap is 'supercheap'? Unless 'significantly less than' the $220 a 6950 goes for(which performs similarly to GTX570, which roughly ties the GTX480), I'd pass on the power-hungry and very loud GTX480.....

I had a GTX 470, and I found that one to be very loud, and the 480 is supposed to be louder. I personally would avoid that. I suppose if you had a very good sound proofing case it may not be as bad, but I'm not a fan.

i have a gainward gtx 480 stock cooler it really is not very loud at all and mine is overclocked

I found, with my 470, is that it is ok at idle and the desktop, and even some gaming, but once it is pushed to a full load, it goes from reasonable to very loud fast.

First of all thank you guys , well the price is a bit under what 6950 1gb goes for around here on the nearest shop and thats 180 Euros, considering the 6950 1gb goes for 185 i thought its a good deal but hey dont wanna upgrade PSU yet :(  i think its still a good psu and i'l just wait to get a 6950 ..i guess :p

In terms of anti-aliasing, one of the areas the 69xx cards were improved over the 68xx and 5xxx series, was anti-aliasing. For the cost difference, I'd feel more comfortable recommending the 6950, even if it was a 1gb card. Of course that could be due to my aversion to noisy cards.

Thing is i planed to upgrade my computer with a fixed 200 add or take 15-20 euros a month and to get a new PSU and such after not even half an year makes me wanna skip few points of performance increase vs money spend i guess so think il stick with the 6950 for now :(  thank you guys !

Just found a new super cheap id say offer of a Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 at 137 euros what do u guys think ? how would that video card handle the actual resolution of 1600x900 for like 1 year or so ? (considering that the cheapest 6870 its at about 179 euros around here id say its a nice deal)

Well its not about the settings i dont mind turning some shadows and such down in most games if i need to, the thing i wonder is if it will be enough to take care of the bunch of spell effects that happens in World of warcfraft cataclysm 25 man raids..wich kinda tears my 250 gts down even on low settigs at the moment.I want to be able to have smooth gameplay considering my resolution aint that big and other components should not bottlneck me :p  anyone playing wow using the 6870 around here?

At your resolution, the 6870 is a great card. I'll give it a thumbs up. The 6950 is also good, but probably more than you need.
