Help me pick a psupply

COOLER MASTER Silent Pro Gold Series RSA00-80GAD3-US 1000W ATX 12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850 (CMPSU-850AX) 850W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Now I know corsair is generally a better Psupply designer but both of these got very high marks on efficiency when tested though the corsair failed its 80+ gold cert once or twice (but by about 1-2% efficiency).

New comp specs
asus p8z68 deluxe gen 3 mobo
intel core i7-2600k cpu
g.skill 16GB DDR3 1600 (4x4GB) RAM
WD 2TB 7200RPM 6gb/s sata HDD
evga geforce GTX 580 classified edition 3gb gddr5 vid card
creative fatality championship edition sound card
coolermaster HAF X case (2 extra case fans)
planning on a bumped up cpu cooler but can't decide on one yet
2 dvd combo drives
1 blu ray combo drive

(possible expansion to another GTX 580 and SSD)

Now the corsair may be the way to go though the coolermaster silent pro got great marks but Im wondering if I should grab the 1000w to be conscious of future upgrade prospects or if the 850w will do me right. Thoughts?

  1. An 850W psu won't cut it for 580 Sli btw.
  2. He's right, recommended 900W minimum for 580GTX sli, more if they are overclocked:
  3. Here's the Kingwin gold:

Expect to pay $200 for Gold certification at 1000W. Make sure you can pull that much from your outlet too.
  4. NZXT Hale90 1000W

    $169.99 + Free Shipping.

I bought mine from this site, *Trihedral's Approved Stamp Goes Here*
