For gaming, the CPU doesn't matter, as long as it can keep up. The GPU is the most important. What PSU do you have and do you intend on overclocking? Do you prefer Nvidia or AMD GPUs? Also, what's your budget?

E4500 aren't the best gaming chips, also there will be a substantial bottleneck. GPU at this moment isn't the most important, the cpu is.

I have an antec Neo430 HE for a power supply, Q45 chipset, prefer nvidia. Thinking of buying a PS3. Just wondering what would give me the best bang for the buck? Do realize a higher end GPU might need a better PSU.

You need a better cpu first.

The problem is if you buy a console you are going to have to spend 60 bucks for the games :non: But can you overclock your e4500?

LGA 775 has tons of options, that socket was used for everything from later model Pentium 4's up through some of the fairly recent Core 2 Quad's. You'll have to do some research to determine what your board will take, and it may need a BIOS update too, but if possible I would look for an E8500 or E8600 for a dual core solution, and maybe a Q9500, Q8500, or a Q6600 for a quad core. You can find them relatively cheap used and new on ebay, amazon, etc...
