Do I really need to Flash/Update Bios?

Hi,
I have the ASRock Z68 Extr 3 Gen 3 LGA 1155 Motherboard and was wondering if I REALLY need to update Bios or Flash it? System (i5 2500k) is running flawless. Should I just "Leave it alone"?

I have no clue how to update BIOs or Flash it without messing up my system.

"Don't fix it if it isn't broke" ?

I built my own system back at the end of March btw..

If its running great, don't do it.

There is no gain for u and something can get messed up!

Some examples when to flash the BIOS usually are:

1. New CPU was released
2. Memory compatibility issues + new RAM models are released
3. Remember when the new 2+TB HDD have been released? New BIOS was needed.
4. New hardware support added.
5. Or if u can benefit from changes in the change log.

BIOS updates are always risky for various reasons.
Especially when wrong BIOS is used.

Thanks. I'll leave it alone. My system is only 5 months old since I built it.

Since there is no performance benefit, its not needed to do.

I usually do it when re-installing windows or Linux.

If you have to ask the question, the answer is no.

Only update the bios to fix an issue that is affecting you.
Read the doc to see what issues are resolved and avoid updating if you can.
A failed bios can brick your motherboard.
