Don't see this particular problem in the archives; perhaps
someone has a fix for it. I am unable to delete images from
my Nikon 995.....except through Nikon View on my computer.
The camera's Delete Menu is "locked up" on "Reset
Trns/Print" ......the "up" arrow on the selector button does
nothing. I have tried different CF cards w/o any effect. I
am wondering if I did something in programming that could
cause this ..... or is it more likely time to find a Nikon
dealer and get an estimate?
I guess a call/email to Nikon's tech support might be in
order. I have heard both good and (mostly) bad about their
tech suppt.

I have a 995, Isnt there a lock function to save pics so you dont accidently
delete them? It is possible you have inadvertently programmed the wrong
setting. I will look at mine a little later and let you know.

Sounds like you protected the images. See p. 142 of the manual:
— Cancel protection on images —
1Press </> on the Multi selector to highlight the thumbnail of the
image for which you want to cancel protection. Press up/down to
cancel protection of the selected image (the Protect icon
disappears).
2Press the qual button to implement the setting.
