How do you choose a good motherboard?

I have chosen my motherboard for my build. Not sure if I have chosen the right type of motherboard for my needs.

  1. Stay away from Biostar. Cheap and nasty like Asrock. I'd get an Asus M5A97 for that build. AM3+ socket and excellent build quality.
  2. Yes, stay away from Biostar and the lower end Asrock boards. Stick with Gigabyte and Asus and you can't go wrong. Here's a good entry level MB for your cpu:
    GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3
