Asus P9X79 Deluxe SSD Caching SATA Ports
Aug 20, 2012, 6:44 AM
I recently aquired an Asus P9X79 Deluxe Motherboard and am happy with it.
I currently use 6 of the 8 available SATA Connectors on the Motherboard.
The two unused ones are the gray colored ones with the SSD Caching Sticker on top.
I was wondering - can I just hook up two regular SATA devices to those two ports?
I have no intention to use the SSD Caching feature and would just like to add 2 more devices.

Yes, you can use them as regular ports. Be sure they are enabled in the bios, and any driver needed for them is loaded in windows.
