Upgrade?

Currently I am using an Athlon X2 250 which while it does run most games it kinda on the low end. I am able to buy a FX-4100 for ~100 USD (coupon). Do you think this would be a reasonable upgrade? If not what are your thoughts? I already have an AM3+ motherboard so id like to stick with AMD.

IMO I'd go with a black edition x4 you can OC it and nothing i know of except some design programs utilize more than 4 cores anyway.

It is an AM3 processor but it also works on AM3+ Motherboards.

for 100 why not , should do well for the next 2-3 years , win 8 another + for the 4100 .
