Do i buy Ati Hd 6850 or Nvidia Gtx 550ti with upgrading of ram to 4 Gb

Core2duo 2.93 ghz
hd 4350
2 gb ddr2
coolermaster 500w psu
..

I want to upgrade my pc and i am on a budget.
Do i buy Ati Hd 6850 or Nvidia Gtx 550ti with upgrading of ram to 4 Gb . as buying a 2 gb ram stick and gtx 550 ti equals to the price of a hd 6850 graphics card.

2GB of RAM plus your core 2 duo will bottleneck a 6850,gtx 460 anyway.Get 4GB RAM and a gtx 550 ti

6850, no doubt. It trumps the 550, and you shouldn't need much more than 2GB memory anyway.

Get 2 more GB of ram for sure, then see if you can stretch your budget for a GTX 460.
