Hi

My computer is Acer Aspire M3201. The sects are:

AMD Athlon II X2 240
Acer RS780HVF 780G chip set, AM2+
ATI Radeon HD 4650
6MB DDR2.

I'll upgrade my PSU to XFX 450 watts. Is Phenom II- prosessors ok for my computer? I was thinking about AMD PHENOM II X4 960T 3.0G AM3 95W BE.

The thing is that Acer customer cervice says the best cpu is phemon x4 9550. Lol?

Thx.

If is AM2+ motherbord then they have right. Some processors , like yours is AM3 , and the AM3 is backward compatible ,they also in AM 2+ and AM 2 sockets. Some boards with 780 G chipset have AM3. My advice is to buy a new motherboard to. Because brand PC's is like lotery ,and you have minimum choices to upgrade something.
