It seems like the Intel Smart Response Technology is really meant to speed up systems with mechanical drives. The pc that I'm building will only have a mechanical drive for storing media files. Windows and all my applications will be stored on SSD.
So would it be worth it for me to buy an msata drive to activate Smart Response?

Thanks. :hello:

^ As always, EXcellent advice.
No real advantage if primary use of HDD is to store media files. As jaquith stated, what is stored on the Chaching SSD will be based on repeative calls for a given file. For files requested that are NOT stored in the cache, performance will probably decrease slightly. When the request to read a file is initiated, it will first check the cache, waisted time if the file is NOT in cache.
