Can't get SLI to enable in new biuld

Hello,

I just build a new rig yesterday, Sabertooth 990, 1080W power supply, and 2 EVGA 560TI cards. I updated the drivers on the cards and when i go to turn on SLI, theres no option to turn it on. I've checked both cards seprately and they both work. ive tried a different bridge and even older drivers, and I cant even get the option to turn on SLI to show up. Im at a loss here.

Any advice would be great.

Asus Sabertooth 990FX. it says its SLI ready, even up to Quad-SLI. oh and i forgot to mention, Im using windows 7 64-bit

Make sure you use the right slots, BIOS setting if required, and make sure the motherboard molex connectors are connected if required. Refer to your motherboard manual.

The whole 'SLI again for AMD' is still relatively new for the 990 chipset; I've not seen any reviews yet of SLI performance, and would likely suspect there will be some chipset driver updates.

Ive checked the slots, I cant find any setting in BIOS that has anything to do with SLI, and accodring to the manual it just says to plug them into PCI-E slots 1 and 3, hook up the power cords in the back, and use the bridge, then just turn it on in the nvidia control panel. I've done that and still no option to turn it on shows up

hopefully the updates wont take to long to come out. id rather not have my money wasting away on that second card without being able to use it

Yes, I completed downloading them a couple hours ago thinking that that would help. but so far, nothing.

Well you are doing all that you should have to, have you tried contacting Asus tech support?

I haven't. i wasnt sure where the problem was. i didnt know whether to try asus or evga or nvidia. I'll contact Asus and see what they have to suggest

Well I have a pair of 560's in SLi so the cards can do it and I'm using a 620w PSU as opposed to your 1KW PSU so you should have more than enough power that just leaves a motherboard issue or a software issue IMHO.

Your going to have to wait for a bios update as those boards aren't capable of using SLI yet.

its nothing to do with the bios, its about the nvidia drivers are not setup for the 990 chipset. There are work around at this time.

Yeah ive been checking out their site almost everyday for an beta and guess i should have checked earlier today

I'm downloading it now! Ill let you know how it works. Thanks for pointing that out! Asus didnt help at all, just told me to check my cards and slots. and replace everything on the board to see if that helped. hopefully these will do the trick, since it says it does in the description and everything
