Why am I freezing up???

Hello,
I need some help because my pc keeps crashing and I think I know why but wanna make sure.

I am maxing out the "graphics" on COD Black Ops to 1920X(I forget) and then I open my AMD overdrive and max out the settings there for both cards. And then I start COD and as soon as the game starts it freezes and then my pc reboots. Is this happening because my vid cards are old???

I put my hardware below if needed

ASUS M4A79XTD EVO

Can you run other games? Try using the stock settings for the cards.

You are not supposed to "max out" the settings on ati overdrive, you are overclocking them and you shouldn't just slide the bars to the right and hope for the best, you have to be careful with overclock because not doing it correctly will cause your system to become unstable and you could burn your cards by just sliding the bars to the right.
