Building a new pc so what do you guys think?

Stuff about components: I didn't chose a p8p67 board because there's lots of people who have problems with it

Didn't chose g skill because the store where I'm buying parts don't have it (frys)

Question: Is it a problem with the board that the cpu socket is close to the memory?

Build:

Motherboard: MSI P67A-GD65 ($175)

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K ($220)

CPU Cooler: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus ($30)

Extra fan for push and pull: Antec TriCool 120mm Fan ($13)

RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB ($66)

Video Card: MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II O ($580)

Hard Drive: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 ($65)

Optical Drive: ASUS 24X OEM DVDRW ($23)

Case: Cooler Master HAF X ($190)

Power Supply: CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850 ($175)

Might want to check out some of the Asrock motherboards like the p67 Extreme4, there is a newer gen 3 version out now that is around 160 on newegg. I'm guessing the 580 for video card is 2 of them for crossfire, though 290 each seems expensive unless you're factoring in tax. Even your case is 160 after MIR on newegg and there's no tax there is there a reason you aren't buying from newegg or another site that's a lot cheaper?

Far as the CPU near the memory, that's how its suppose to be since that's what the CPU needs fast access to.

I live in CA, so there is taxes. I like buying from frys, since it's really close to my house, and microcenter is pretty far away.

BTW, is the Asus p8p67, MSI P67A-GD65, or Asus sabertooth better?
