What's the problem?

Insert ram in correct slots, done.

Will not post with memory in slots 1&2 or 3&4 unless the computer is cold. Then it will boot. This only lasts a few minutes. The screen goes to artifacts and will not boot again until I move memory to single Chanel. I have an and 945 that works just fine with this memory!

What ram kit did you get? Some require more than the default 1.5 V to work correctly. Provide your full system specs WITH links if you want additional help.

In most motherboards for dual channel you would need to put the memory in 1&3 or 2&4, not 1&2 or 3&4.

Did you check your manual for the proper configuration?

You would be right for most boards, but this one has 1&2 or 3&4. I have reviewed the manual many times trying to solve this issue. I have an AMD 945 processor that works just fine in the correct configuration. I know that this sounds like I have a memory controller issue on the processor. This this the second 955BE that i have tried. Both would
not work from the getgo!!

Check your running 1333mhz/9-9-9-24/1.5v in your bios.

Pull your cmos battery for 5 minutes or re-set the bios, then check your memory settings are correct with your memory in the configuration you know works with the other processor.

Now that is simply not true. Plus, it has nothing to do with the topic. Don't post if you can't bring any value to the conversation.

To the original poster - try to get another set of RAM sticks and test it it works. And try the GSKILL sticks in another mobo, if you can.

What was the point of your post again??

The 955 is the best cpu you can get for $105. Period.

That is theoretically possible but highly unlikely. Maybe there is a problem with the 955. To be 100% you'd need another RAM sample so you can check if the 955 works in dual-channel at all.
If you can return the 955 to the seller and get a replacement, I'd consider doing so.
