M4a89gtd pro usb3, pcie 2.0 update to 3 ??

I have a Asus M4A89GTD/USB3 PRO motherboard with Pci e 2 x2 slots
Well My question is this. Will there be a bios
up date to bring the pcie 2 slots to
pci e 3 standards or is this a hardware issue

No. No AMD boards, even the newest and best, are capable of PCIe 3.0.

Only 6 and 7 series chipsets from Intel, with an Ivy Bridge CPU (or SB-E on some X79 boards) are PCIe 3.0 capable.

That's not really a problem though, since all 3.0 cards will work in 2.0 slots, and the performance difference is nil.

Currently it is a hardware issue which in itself has many confused since AMD was the first to release PCIe 3.0 graphics cards... yet their CPU's aren't capable of handling it. Reportedly to be corrected by 2014 - around the expected release for PCIe 4.0, hmmmm.

Well thanks for the answers. Not what I wanted to hear. But thanks all the same
I've always been a fan of AMD, all my builds, have all been AMD.
But really this is a big BIG blunder on there part. Kinda leaves the AMD Gamers out in the cold on pcie3 speeds

As DJ points out, the performance difference isn't really there (except in some benchmarks) - not in real life usages.
