Forum CPU & Components : Sound Cards Yay!! Sb Live! wait...*POOF* gone

The other day I got a Sound Blaster Live Value. I installed the card and the drivers without any problems, however, 2 hours later I restarted my computer (it wasn't even my first restart from when I installed the card) and out of the blue it wouldn't turn on. I began troubleshooting it and came to the conclusion the Sound Card was the problem. I verified that by trying it in my brothers computer (we both bought Sb Live's same day from the same place) and mine wouldn't work in his either. In both computers, I couldn't get into BIOS or anything, I just got a weird series of beeps and the monitor wouldn't catch on.

The company I bought it from agreed to letting me RMA the card, but how can I be sure this doesn't happen to the new card I get? Was it bad-luck or something with my computer?

Here are my specs:

Abit BH6
128mb PC100 (2x64mb)
Celeron 566Mhz
Maxtor 40GB Ata66 HD (running at ata33)
2 NICs 1 Realtek 1 SMC
1 SCSI Card

Probably bad luck. SB Live! cards are very stable, at least to my knowledge.
