Notebook wont start after installing new ram

Hello,
have a 1g notebook i changed the ram to a 2g ram now my notebook wont turn on so i changed it back to the orginal ram and it still wont turn on i checked the ram was compatible before i brought it and installed it but it still wont work

Have you pushed it in far enough? You should feel it pop in to place when installing. Is it possible you might have disconnected something else? Was there anything else you were working near to install the ram? Or was it just in an easy access panel on the case?
