Im getting a new pc tomorrow and i was wondering, when i build it does it matter if i install the RAM in the 2 blue or 2 black slots or it doesnt matter?

I'm getting Asus P8Z77-M with 8 GB DDR3 RAM Kit, 1600MHz, CL9, CORSAIR Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9

Thanks!

Yup, was just wondering the order, so #1 and #3 would be the black ones.

Thank you!

Yes it does matter

Those slots are in the form A1,A2,B1,B2 where A/B denotes the channel and 1/2 denotes the slot number. Modules on the same channel share the same IO bus. To optimize your memory bandwidth and reduce latency you will want to put at least one module in each channel.

Many chipsets require that a DIMM be present in either A1 or B1 to boot.
