How to tell if my motherboard is dead

My computer started acting weird randomly shutting down and than starting back up. and now it does nothing the power supply turns on and the green led on the mother board turns on and my hard drives turns on but nothing else does. is that a sign of a bad motherboard or processor?

Its more likely the PSU.

Can u try to use another PSU?

It was a pre build Asus with a few upgrades

windows 7 home premium
I5 650
GTX 560
4x2 Gb ram sticks ASint DDR3 is what is says on them. they came with the computer so im not sure what they are
motherboard P7H55
corsair GS700 replaced about 6 months ago when i put the new gpu in
2 1 Tb HDD Seagate Barracuda

I don't have another psu i went to the website and it said try the paperclip test and it works leds come on and fan spins.

ok i reseated the ram as you suggested and now the fans all turn on but no nothing else mouse keyboard monitor still nothing.
