How many extra fans do i need?

Hello,

my pc is 2 years old. i have gigabyte g31m-es2l mobo, core2duo e7400, 4gb ram, nvidia geforce gt9500, 500watt psu. my cabinet is from intex and psu is built in one. i have 1 case fan, 1 psu fan, 1 built in intex fan for processer and a built in graphics card fan.

how many fans do i need more coz my pc is getting up hot now a days. please suggest

depends what you want to do, around 50oC at idle is normal and ok for core2duo


if you want to make your temps lower, could be that the temperature sensor on the motherboard is not very accurate


to be honest its not worth spending the money to do it, no point trying to get lower temps with that age of pc, the most likely part to cause issue is your built in power supply


wait till you get a new pc/ upgrade before you bother, better to go for new cpu fan-most include thermal paste


the temperature differnce between different pastes is only a few degrees and not worth bothing about unless you are overclocking and want the lowest posible temps, but then you would use watercooling
