    I linked a phenom II
  3. And I don't have a clue as to updating bios
  4. It is a phenom II in the link, but in reality the product is an athlon II as it lacks level 3 cache (internal cpu ram)

Bios update: click "View Detail" in the link i posted, and click "How to flash BIOS ?"
  5. I tired to follow the "how to flash bios" and I don't understand it.. =/

Download the Fox LiveUpdate, install it, it will allow you to update the bios from inside windows

BTW: Neither I, nor will tomshardware.com! accept any liability for damage to hardware caused by following these instructions. Use at your own risk. It is recommended that you make a backup your BIOS first.
  7. Also, I thought my board can only allow me to upgrade to a processor with 95w, the one you linked me was a 125w
  8. I check the compatibility and it has the x6's marked, ill get the link hold on
  9. You are right, http://www.foxconnsupport.com/cpusupportlist.aspx?type=mb&socket=Socket%20AM2+/AM2&model=A74ML-K&cputype=AMD

    heres a 95w phenomII http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Phenom-Processor-Black-Socket/dp/B0056D5AMY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1321845324&sr=8-1

although its not on the current list, it may still work, but contact foxconn just in case

or if you can find a AMD Phenom II X4 945 then that will work as well
  10. Oh, wow..I didn't even know there was a combatability list. well thank you for you're help, and what if I do upgrade my processor..and didn't update the bios..what would happen?
  11. It might not turn on, it will not damage the computer.

If it refuses to turn on, then you will need to put back the old cpu and update the bios
  12. Ok, thank you for you're help!

    :)
  13. You are welcome
