Yes. I've been travelling a lot of the time the last few weeks, but even
so, I've managed to play through the main game 3 times in between trips, and
also finish the bonus games you get as well. It's an astounding game that
goes right into the "best games ever" list as far as I'm concerned.
If you want to talk about it much in detail, though, I recommend a forum on
Gamefaqs, IGN, or some other gaming site. These groups are pretty dead when
it comes to talking about actually playing games. If you're lucky, you
might find a discussion about whether a game is good or not, an arguement
about who copied whom in design, or (most likely) a series of posts that
about to system-bashing.
I'm game, though, if you really want to talk in here. Which parts did you
like most? What in the gameplay made you really love this game?
Personally, the boss fights (of course) really stood out, but what really
made the game was the constant on-edge feeling of being surrounded. I loved
the extra intense bits, like holding off the zombies in that house with Luis
and Ashley, or the mine cart ride. Gameplay-wise, I always appreciate a
game that feels like the characters and weapons, etc, have some weight to
them rather than being "floating" guys that just happen to move their legs.
This game does a great job of that. Leon feels like he's on the ground,
very solid, and the weapons and enemies (and levels) feel just as solid as
he does.
And the graphics, not to leave out the incredible graphics! Just like
another of my favorites, Metroid Prime, the levels in this game are all
unique, individually modelled creations, not lego-block reassemblies of
other levels. Everything is carefully crafted and there's so much detail!
It makes games made with the latest "superior" technologies look like they
were designed through sheer laziness. Take Half-Life 2, for example,
probably the most advanced game graphics engine out there right now, but the
levels look stark and barren compared to RE4's levels. This is art design
at its best, and a technological showpiece to boot.
