PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS:Newegg
PARTS PREFERENCES: Can use either ATI or Nvidia. As said in the title I was trying to decide between the 550 ti, specifically the EVGA version, and the 5770/6770. I have read that the 5770 and 6770 are comparable in performance.
OVERCLOCKING: Yes SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No
MONITOR RESOLUTION:1366x768. I will not be getting a new monitor for a few years, unless this one dies. It came with my HP and has served me well so far.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Since I do not plan on getting new monitor I have no need for anything better then those atm moment. Would it be better to get a 6670? I can't find any benchmarks at my resolution. I want to be able to play at high settings on all the games mentioned.
This will just be an upgrade to carry me through school and once I have a job and am making decent money I will work on building a true gaming computer.
The 6770 is a rebadged 5770, the performance will be identical between those two cards. The 6770 has a couple of extra features over the 5770 like supporting HDMI 1.4a, but game performance is identical between the two. Best bang for your buck would probably be the 5770. You'll probably find it a bit cheaper than the 550 Ti and get similar performance to the 550 Ti.
