DGL-4500 firmware upgrade?

I currently have a D-Link DLG-4500 (worth the price? no really but it gets the job done). I am on an old 1.15 revision of the firmware and am looking to upgrade to the 1.23NA release. This router has had a history of very bad firmware releases and i want to know if this 1.23 release is a solid release or if people are still dealing with the issues that arose in the initial 1.2x releases. I am looking at this update for the USB share port connect with which i am currently having issues with (computers wont read anything i plug into it). If anyone has personal experience that would be awesome but also links to helpful sites is obviously appreciated. I searched the Google's for quite some time but found nothing which could be a good sign or a bad sign. Any assistance would be great.
